Harrier Strike Attack ?
I quite like the idea of this
game. Your harrier takes off from an aircraft carrier, flies to an island
and takes out various enemies before flying back to the aircraft carrier
and landing. All a bit Carrier Command like in a we were here first kind
of way. Unfortunately the implementation of this idea leaves a lot to
be desired. The graphics, despite being wire frame and lacking even the
most basic detail, move incredibly slowly and there is absolutely no impression
of speed whatsoever. Even the enemies, with perhaps the exception of the
planes are so devoid of detail they are almost laughable, particularly
the so called 'tank tent'. Being more of the arcade style of flight simulator
you'd expect the controls to be fairly simple, but your constantly having
to re-adjust your flight angle. Crashing is also a problem. You have little
visual idea of where your plane is in relation to the ground and hence
crash into it quite a lot. You also crash if you go to high. This combined
with controls and the fact I couldn't find a key which allowed me to launch
missile counter measures leads to a very frustrating gameplay experience.
I bet flying a real plane is easier than this. In order to get some good
screen shots I had to use practise and demo mode. Killing enemies is also
fairly amusing. The collision detection is so bad that your gun sights
only need to be in the vicinity of an aircraft or enemy to hit it, I even
managed to take out three enemy jets while stationary on the aircraft
carrier.. Zogging Hell Rating: 4/10 Cheats
