Battle Probe (Capital Software Designs Ltd 1988: Programming - John Wheatman, Graphics - Bobby Box)

A sampled opening tune isn't going to excuse this competitor for the harshest unfairest shoot'em up ever. Before you even have chance to adjust your eyes to the playfield (about two seconds into the game) you've been hit by an enemy missile. And after loosing your first life to that you'll loose the rest shortly after as you find the enemies fire is rapid and there's no way you can hit them unless you can manage to dodge bullets with a gap in between that's less than the time your ship needs to get them into the line of fire and then get out again. The collision detection is terrible. Get anywhere near an enemy bullet and your history, while yours can't hit them until apparently they've passed right through them. On the plus side the graphics are ok in a simple way, but this really is a stinker, pretty much any PD shooter could beat this hands down, even those made using SEUCK. Only for collectors this one.
