Magnetic Tank (Loricleis 1986: Programming P.Jarry, Graphics - B. Mason, Music - X. Talgorn)
Magnetic Tank is a isometric 3D game of the Treasure Trap, Cadaver and Airball. It's pretty generic example of this genre really. Controlling a tank, which helpfully has a large arrow on top of it (just in case you didn't know which way it was facing boys and girls), you have to manouvre past various hazards with the aim of, presumably (though I don't really know for sure!), getting to your goal. The graphics are pretty good in the sort of standard isometric way, and the control system, as ever with these sort of games, is a bit of a pain to get your head round (the old up is diagonal thing!). Some of the enemies border on pathetic. Early on in the game my super large tank was chased about by three small stacks of what appeared to be bricks. Terrifying. I nearly soiled myself with fear. There's just nothing to really grab you really and you just wish they had been a bit more inventive. Zogging Hell Rating: 6/10 Cheats None as yet.
