Thundercats

Exceedingly difficult cartoon tie in. After a nice logo and a reasonable theme tune, you are presented with with a fairly basic platform affair. You control Lion'o (at least from memory that was his name) in his quest to get back a magical item from the evil Mummra (again from memory). You basically leap about a pretty restricted series of scrolling levels and face an onslaught of never-ending creatures (some of which seem to hail from the cartoon series). This game is a mighty dissapointment. Instead of really playing with the Thundercats themes (I was at least expecting a 'Thundercats Ho!' sample in there somewhere) the programmers have taken the lazy approach. The graphics, while passable, are fairly poorly animated and that theme tune grates after a bit. As I said before the game is very hard and it seems to be more based on luck than skill if you get through a level. That said it might just be me being rubbish.
