Chubby Gristle (Grandslam, 1988)

Yes good title, shame about the game. Your fat friend Chubby starts his platform romp being accousted by an angry traffic warden. But the slightly politically incorrect joke about the title character is just an excuse for another 8bit platform single screen romp. By those standards Chubby's not bad. But come on, this sort of stuff has been done better on the 8bit and the ST was just about to usher in a new era of platformer, with vastly improved graphics and sound. In Chubby, sound consists entirely of a twee and annoying tune playing constantly throughout. This could well be a straight port from the Amstrad (snarl snarl).

Zogging Hell Rating: 58%

When the title screen appears, type "BUUURRP" for infinite lives (Ho Ho!).
