| Pacmania Grandslam 1987: Programming by - Shaun Hollingworth and Peter Harrap (Teque), assisted by James Tripp. Graphics - Jason Wilson. Music - Ben Dalglish
An attempt to bring Pacman up to date by flashing up the graphics (i.e. making them isometric) and adding a few 'power ups'. It's not an awful attempt but the original was so good you have to ask what dearth of ideas led them to create this. There are a few problems with the control system. Pacman moves continously in whatever direction he's facing with no input from the player other than to change direction. I'm not sure if this was a feature of the original game but it's a pain up the arse when you need to change direction in a hurry, as there's a distinct lag between you making the movement and Pacman reacting. Which unfortunately is nearly always just enough time for that closely following ghost to get you. Zogging Hell Rating: 6/10
