Bombjack

Another classic game from Elite, Bombjack is kind of like the famous Bubble Bobble (reviewed elsewhere). It's a single screen platformer where the object, suprisingly is to collect all the bombs on the screen. All sorts of weird creatures home in on you as your trying to do this attempting to rob you of one of your lives. It clearly inspired later games such as Parasol Stars and Rainbow Islands. The control system can prove to be slightly irritating in places, but it's as addictive as many a strange white powder.

'Second Sight': 'This strikes me as a good coin-op conversion of the platform and ladders type game. Plenty of variety and the graphics are quite good, but the sound could have been more highly developed.
Lots of fun if you like this kind of thing. Try it and see, though I could think of better ways of spending 20 pound.' Nic Outterside
