Ed the Duck

Any game that bases itself on a ridiculous puppet from Children's BBC is asking for a kickin'. Ed the Duck for those of you who are either too young, don't live in Britain, or have forgotten, was a ridiculous glove puppet that original hung out with the knobbish Andy Crane and later an equally obnoxious arse wipe called Andi Peters. He spent most of his time quacking and pulling off hilarious japes in between childrens programs. I always felt sorry for the poor bloke who had to spend most of his time crouching under the desk with his hand up Ed's bottom. Tragically for a short period Ed mania gripped the country, and the infamous phrase "Ed the Duck bites your legs" swept the playgrounds. It is from this period that this blatant Rainbow Islands clone springs from. Fortuantly the game isn't quite as bad as Ed himself. It's reasonable graphically, though the majority of it seems to be almost lifted from other games, namely Rainbow Islands. Unfortuantly Ed is as crap in the game as he is in real life. He bizarrely is able to freeze his opponents, but that's it, he then has to run away before they unfreeze. Ed the Duck could have been a pretty nice little game but as it is it's too frustrating to be worth bothering with.
For those intrigued to know the ending of the game, I somehow doubt that it will show the real end of Ed, who was replaced by a 3ft high ant-eater (no joke!).
P.S. We apologize to those readers who have been undergoing psychological councilling for the years that Ed was on our screen, and may, at this moment, be re-checking into the clinic after this review brought back a whole host of bad memories.

Cheats

Typically the cheat for Ed is as crap as the game itself. Hit the left mouse button during gameplay to skip the level. Oh dear....
