Ocean 1989

A conversion of an Amiga conversion of the popular arcade game. It is one of the games that everyone seems to own and remember about the 16bit, though quite why I don't know. Its average at best, the graphics are sluggish as treacle (despite the boasts on the packaging about their speed) and the sound is awful (worse even than the poor Amiga version's). The sprites are lazily drawn. It really is proof that Ocean had slipped in standard from the their early releases and were quite happy to release Electronic Arts type dross. Actually the Spectrum version was meant to be quite good though, hhhmmmm.

Cheats

Holding down both mouse buttons and typing 'growler' resets the timer and tap the SPACE bar as each level loads to reach speeds of around 500kmh when using your turbo boosters!
If you'd like a high score, try hitting the escaping convict from the side. You get 10x the points.
