Bloodwych
Imageworks 1989.
A Dungeon Master clone but with a twist, a two player mode. The result is either a game that you you'll love or hate. Personally I love it, possibly even more than Dungeon Master. The graphics are hardly ground breaking and the sound is almost non existent. But it's the gameplay where it really shows it's metal. The two player works well though it does involve having to use the joysticks as opposed to the mouse. The puzzles are tough and well thought through. The "ground breaking" conversations you can have with the characters throughout the game aren't all that useful but some of the insults are amusing. Nothing can really beat telling a Dragon that he smells like a dog and is as ugly as a maggot. Yep I really like this one. Note. A expansion pack sometimes known as Bloodwych 2 is available. Zogging Hell Rating: 9/10
Cheats Go through the normal buying process but stop when you get as far as paying the creature. Instead of money, put any item into the transfer slot, such as a key. The creature tells you it's a pathetic price to pay but he gives it to you anyway. My own cheat, which can save your arse in tight corners! If you get stuck in a corner you can't escape from and an enemy monster is attacking you, you can if your quick open up the communication panel. Before he gets chance to respond to your greeting repeatedly complement him and 'big' him up. Do this enough times and he'll actually be less inclined to attack you. He might even move off and leave you alone. More likely though it'll give you enough of a breather to create a nice spell or crack a large axe into the middle of his forehead. This obviously makes him mad so merely repeat the complement thing/hit him, until dead.
