Rayman
Ubisoft's bizarre French character Rayman's only outing on the Jag is a 2D graphical tour de force. It really is like watching an animated movie. It must be said that the Jag really shows its 2D capibilities with this one. Graphically there's nothing to distinguish this from other ports of the game, on the Playstation and Saturn. The sound isn't quite as sharp and there are a few sound effects missing, most notably the 'raspberry' noise Rayman makes when doing his cheeky 'hidden' move. Rayman owes a lot in gameplay terms to the classic Mario franchise, and this has so much in common with Super Mario World it's untrue. You bounce around the levels, dodging bad guys and saving some Ribena berry lookie likies in cages. This is the best platformer on the Jag, thanks to its looks and playability, and is a good purchase for the platform heads out there.
