Pitfall

Another SNES platform conversion, like Busby, but this time a lot more of a success. Basically a sequel to the ancient Pitfall, brought out on the VCS and 8bit machines. The graphics are about as good as 2D cartoon animation can get, with lovely lush sprites and backgrounds. Animation is excellent, while the enemies (if dissapointingly small) are varied enough. Gameplay is pretty much spot on. Your character leaps and jumps between some exquisite backdrops, sometimes swinging about on vines. Er, just like the original Pitfall then. It's a bit samey when played along side Flashback, and you begin to suspect that they were seperated at birth. Definitely the better of the two, and without doubt one of the best platformers on the Jaguar.
