Doom

This game sold more Jaguars than AvP. One of the so called original holy trinity of first person shooters (the others being Wolfenstein, which is available on the Jag, and Quake, which, er, isn't). It's looking a bit dated now with slightly blocky graphics, and very little has been altered from the PC version, a few less textures here and there, slightly simplified maps in places, no background music and a few less monsters. On the plus side Co-operative and Deathmatch modes are intact. The game is also much quicker to get into than the PC version, and feels, for some reason, a lot nicer to play. The control pad, for once, does an excellent job. It's also extremely bloody and violent (We're talking high body counts here) and you can't beat charging into a room filled with monsters armed with only a chainsaw...

Zogging Hell Rating: 9/10
